Premiership rugby fixtures announced this Friday 7th July

The 2017-18 premiership rugby fixtures are scheduled to be released on Friday 7th July at 11am. The fixture launch will be hosted at the majestic BT tower in Central London, where each team will find out which team they will face on the opening weekend of the season. You can view the fixtures here (once they have been published tomorrow). 


The season will begin on Saturday 2nd September. 

A few updates…

It will be Gloucester’s first season under new head coach Johan Ackermann, who will arrive from South African side Lions at the end of the Super Rugby season and they will be keen to improve on last season’s ninth placed finish. Meanwhile, London Irish who have been newly promoted, will replace Bristol and Exeter Chiefs, led by coach Rob Baxter. They will be looking forward to defending the title after winning for the first time last season beating the dominant Wasps in extra time during the play off final at Twickenham. Exeter Chiefs home ground, Sandy Park, have announced they will be increasing the ground capacity of their stadium.

Transfer News…..

Saracens winger Chris Aston will be sadly missed as he is off to Toulon to experience the French TOP 14 league. Meanwhile England and Bath Fly Half George Ford and Leicester’s Freddie Burns will be swapping clubs, with George returning to his previous club. Leicester Head Coach Aaron Mauger said of the signing”He has become one of the leading players in his position in Europe, and is still a young man with a lot of rugby ahead of him.’

Joe Ford, his brother will also be joining Leicester Tigers, having left Leeds Carnegie.

Scarlets and Lions Full Back, Liam Williams, who is currently on fire in New Zealand, will be joining Saracens.
